Step away from those skinnies. There is a new silhouette in town, and it’s very flattering.

The recent runways were rife with 70’s references, and designers were inspired by the era creating homages to haute hippies and establishment types alike.

Flare legged silhouettes popped up across continents, elongating legs in a way those rolled to the ankle skinnies never could.

Derek Lam mixed his sleek khakis with a soft lilac leather jacket:

Paul and Joe cut their flares in a whimsical print for a sharply tailored take on the suit:

Acne made the look edgy, with a dare to bare it all vest over flared pants:

Denim flares were seen outside the show venues at Paris Fashion Week:
