Latke Double Down

Because we at Indigo Jones are equal opportunity minded, we decided that we would not let race, gender or religion cloud our posts. So, in the holiday spirit, we bring you the gross out sandwich of the season:

The Latke Double Down!

You might remember awhile back, when we wrote about KFC’s disgusting Double Down, a sandwich that replaced the bun with 2 fried chicken cutlets. Not to be outdone, the Jewish Journal created a Hanukkah version, called the Latke Double Down.

This delicacy takes 2 greasy potato pancakes and fills them with sliced brisket, sour cream and applesauce.  We cannot even begin to calculate the calorie count.

Oy Vey!

It’s Beginning To Look A Bit Like Christmas

December 24, 2009

The holidays snuck up on me this year. I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas! Hanukah sort of came and went uneventfuly. The great urban juggle of work, family, household chores and the sheer exhaustion from trying to do it all prevented me from getting into the spirit.  But now, I have finally finished a big consulting project, the team in the studio has offiicially gone on vacation, and I have been scurrying around trying to get this holiday started.

Spencer just ran out with Bailey and her friends and found a sad little “Charlie Brown” Christmas tree that needed a home and the girls are decorating it ecclectically. Cookies were baked, stockings hung, and a couple of gifts bought and wrapped. Tomorrow the shopping will be completed, the cooking will commence, and if all goes well Santa Claus will come. Around here, it’s beginning to look a bit like Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanza and most of all, Happy New Year! It’s not what you celebrate, but the warm wishes and those you share them with that count. Enjoy!
