What’s Up?

I bet you’ve all been wondering what I’ve been up to lately, since clearly, it hasn’t been stockpiling blog posts. Indigo Jones Eats has been having a growth spurt, and although it’s very exciting, it’s also exhausting!

Here is a little bit of what we’ve been up to, and a sneak peak at what is coming soon….

We are now in a couple of coffee bars around town. If you are on the Lower East Side, stop by Pintail Coffee, on Orchard Street for a treat. The coffee bar shares space with a jewel box of a vintage clothing store. We deliver freshly baked scones, muffins, cookies and more, a few times each week and the assortment varies.

Terramoto Coffee is also carrying Indigo Jones Eats, and has a fun assortment of Halloween goodies, as well as the classics. Since they are just down the street on West 15th Street,( near Chelsea Market)  we can literally run things over as they leave the oven.

We are about to join a new launch next week, and are currently recipe testing for their sustainable, locally and transparently sourced baked goods.

We are also going to be featured on two new websites, launching in November, giving us more on-line outlets for our products.

We are up and running with Umi Kitchen, currently delivering on the East Side of New York City. If you live in the delivery zone, download the app and leave me a message for a code to try it out for free.

We are teaching classes with the newly launched site Keenobby, which offers experiences, such as cooking and baking classes ( that’s us!) and shibori dying and more. Check out their website to find something that interests you.

Next week, we will be shooting a video for one of our favorite websites. We’ll post a link when it’s ready. Very exciting!

And no, we haven’t left the fashion industry. So if you are wondering why we don’t call, and we don’t write, it is because we are busy keeping up with it all.

We promise to keep you posted and provide as much new content as we can.

Stay tuned, and keep checking in!

Hang in There

December 17, 2015

We are literally up to our elbows in marshmallows right now, and it is almost midnight! The holidays have been thankfully busy for indigo jones eats, and it has prevented us from posting as often as we’d like.

Hang in there with us. By this time next week, all will have died down and we will be back to our regular posting schedule.

We had a great time at the Food Tech Connect event last night, and will be sharing all of the great innovations where food and technology meet to create some exciting new concepts you have never seen before. We were proud to be there representing the app Homemade with our tomato and basil pesto tarts, and kale salads with mint, edamame, chickpeas, dried cranberries and a lemon herb vinaigrette.

If you are in New York City Friday night or Saturday afternoon, stop in and see us at the Ecohabitude pop-up shop, where we will be hanging out with all of our indigo jones eats baked goods, cello wrapped and tied up in ribbons, to be turned into your own DIY gift box. Of course there will be samples too! Lots of other vendors will be sharing their wares as well, ranging from a variety of non-food related products that are all sustainable and eco-friendly.

We got a puppy a few weeks ago. Winston is a toy Australian Shepherd and he is as cute as they get. Puppies are also challenging, and he has had some parasites that have put a halt to his training. Between sweeping and mopping to make sure there isn’t anything on the floor that he shouldn’t eat, and sweeping and mopping to clean up after him, I am pleased to report that our kitchen floors are immaculate. I think I wash them 3 or 4 times a day! His presence has prompted a new item we like to call “indigo jones bones.” They are all natural, homemade dog treats and he loves them! They are hard enough to help with teething, and tasty enough to entice him to gobble them down. They are available to order through all of our marketplace sites, and we will have some with us to sell at the pop up too.

About a year ago, we started a little business and thanks to sites like Etsy, Ecohabitude, Lemonbar and Gourmly, as well as the fabulous app Homemade, we are busier than we ever thought possible. Thanks for supporting our business, and stay tuned as we introduce more new foods, baked goods and avenues to purchase our products.

We will check in again as soon as we can. Until then, keep up with the (indigo) Jones’ on social media. We are indigojonesnyc on instagram and twitter, and Indigo Jones on Facebook.

Crazy Busy

December 14, 2012

Sorry I haven’t posted in a couple of days. Life has been crazy busy. I have been juggling 2 full time jobs with insane hours. This week, I reached the 40 hour mark sometime Tuesday afternoon! I am not complaining, I am grateful for the opportunities. But something has to give, and it’s this blog.

We are here to bring you great stories on food, fitness, family and fashion. The fact is, I have been coming home too late to eat, and I have 2 week’s worth of CSA vegetables rotting in the refrigerator as we speak. My gym membership is frozen due to doctor’s orders, so my fitness is non-existent these days. My family has been neglected. That leaves fashion, which has sucked up all of my time lately. Everything feels like a fire drill. Deadlines moving up to unattainable places. Schedules and deliverables changing. Priorities and strategies shifting. Everything seems to be a fashion emergency.

Everything seems to be just a little out of control lately. Even my last Huffpost Live segment was affected by late breaking news stories rolling out minutes before we aired.

I promise to re-group over the weekend, and get back to regular posts. After I sleep as much as possible. 1195100241

Thanks for sticking with me. I’ll be back tomorrow!
