Although lots of celebrities and fashionistas created a stir with their over the top or barely there gowns at the Met Gala this week, Livia Firth stood out for a completley different reason.
Ms.Firth (wife of actor Colin Firth,) walked the red carpet in a gown made completely of recycled plastic bottles.
Her long red gown, accessorized with a fringed shawl, was designed by Antonio Berardi, who accepted the challenge to create an eco friendly gown. The dress was made of a fabric called “Newlife,” which is woven from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.
Firth is known for her eco friendly approach to fashion, having launched the “Green Carpet Challenge,” in 2012, which inspired designers to create ecologically friendly fashions.
We think she looked gorgeous, and applaud her for being a role model for sustainablitly in fashion.
