Kitchen Tips Tuesday: Cleaning a Burnt Pan

matches, burned, burnt

Have you ever walked away from the stove and come back to a charred, burnt pan? Truth be told, it happened to me yesterday.

While my usual go to solutions helped: filling it with water and boiling it, and using Bar Keeper’s Friend to softly scour it, there is still a small ring of black char.

Next time this happens to you, use a couple of Alka Seltzer or denture cleaning tablets and let the pan soak. The residue should be gone in an hour or so! I’ll let you know if my All-Clad pan survived the ordeal!
